The Figure compares the predicted results with experimental ones for an automatic five-stage cold forging process. Note that the simulation of automatic multi-stage forging processes (sometimes called fastener forming processes or former processes) should be supported by more sophisticated capabilities of BMF simulators (compared with standard press forging processes), as their consecutive stages are closely related, and the die-workpiece tolerance at each stage is very tight.
